Controlling light in the main atrium of Canada's national museum was a design, engineering and installation challenge.  Solarfective's custom engineered and manufactured system, installed in 1987, uses over 80 internally strengthened fabric shades to respond to changing light conditions.  The shades and counterweights not only address functional requirements, but also add a design element which is an integral part of the visitor's experience of this spectacular space.
